Show delivery dates or other order details on invoice lines
If your checkout collects extra detail — a delivery date, a PO number, a client name, engraving text — it stays in Shopify by default. Those fields can be added to the description of each line on the Xero invoice.
How it Works
You tell us which fields to carry across. Each one is added to the end of every invoice line’s description, and to the shipping line. They can appear as the value on its own, or labelled — "Delivery date: 12 March" rather than "12 March". Only the fields you name are used, so nothing else from the order reaches the invoice.
Where the value comes from
Two places, and we can read either. Details captured at checkout sit on the order as note attributes. Orders your staff raise as drafts in Shopify admin never collect those, so the same detail is usually held in an order metafield instead. Where a field exists in both places on one order, the metafield is used.
How to Request Setup
Email us at help@hyvelabs.co with your shop URL, the exact field names as Shopify stores them, and whether each should be labelled. If the detail is on the product rather than the order, Show variant options on Xero invoice lines is the setting you want instead, and you can turn that one on yourself.
