Download a bank statement CSV for Xero

If your Shopify Payments payouts don't come into Xero on a bank feed, you can build the statement lines yourself and import them.

How to download the file

1. Go to Setup - Advanced and find Generate bank statement for Xero import.
2. Pick the date range on the calendar.
3. Click Download bank statement.
4. In Xero, import the CSV following Xero's own guide.

Two things that catch people out

The dates are payout dates, not order dates. The file can include transactions from a few days before the range you picked, because Shopify Payments takes time to confirm a payout. Choose your range by when the money landed, not by when the orders came in.

It only covers Shopify Payments. Payouts from any other gateway aren't in the file.

Where to import it

Import into the same Xero account your Shopify Payments gateway points at — normally your clearing account. That way the payments the app posts and the statement lines meet in the same place and reconcile against each other.
