Map your Shopify locations to Xero
If you trade from more than one location — shops, a warehouse, a market stall — each one can post to Xero in its own way.
How it Works
You give us the Shopify locations and what each should use. A location can have:
- its own Xero revenue account
- its own tax rates
- its own tracking category and option
- its own Xero contact, so that location’s sales sit under one name
Locations you do not list post exactly as they do now.
What the order needs to carry
The rule reads the location recorded on the order. Shopify POS orders carry theirs automatically. Online orders usually do not, so for a rule to apply to web orders the location has to be set on the order first — Shopify Flow or a fulfilment app can do that.
One thing to know about contacts
A shopper already linked to a Xero contact keeps that contact, even at a location with one of its own. The location contact is used when we are choosing a contact for the order. How we match a Shopify customer to a Xero contact explains the order we check in.
How to Request Setup
Email us at help@hyvelabs.co with your shop URL and, for each location, the Xero account, tax rates, tracking option or contact it should use. If all you need is a tracking category per POS location, Mapping Shopify POS Locations to Xero Tracking Categories covers that on its own.
