Afterpay Recommendation Settings

When configuring your Afterpay Payment Gateway in Hyve – Post to Xero under the Setup - Payouts page, there are three settings you should be aware of:

Xero Clearing Account

Since Afterpay pays you in bulk payments (similar to Shopify), we strongly recommend setting up a clearing account for your Afterpay Payment Gateway.

Payment Gateway Fee

Every order processed through the Afterpay Payment Gateway is typically charged a percentage fee plus a flat fee.

You can find your exact fees based on your current Afterpay plan. Most of our users are usually charged between 4%–6%, along with a flat fee of 30 cents, with many commonly on the 6% plan.

Xero Fee Tax Rate

Depending on your workflow, if tax is applied to your orders, the Xero Fee Tax Rate should be set to a tax type that applies tax to the order.

For example, in Australia, this could be GST (10%).

Most of our users configure a tax type for their Afterpay Payment Gateway. However, we recommend checking with your accountant to confirm whether this is required for your setup.
