Afterpay Recommendation Settings

When you set up Afterpay on the Setup - Payouts page, there are three settings to get right. Click Edit at the end of the Afterpay row to see them.

Clearing Account

Afterpay pays you in bulk payments, many orders in one deposit, as Shopify does. Under Where payouts land, answer Yes to Does Afterpay pay many orders in one deposit? and choose a Clearing account used only for Afterpay.

Fee per Order

Every order paid through Afterpay is usually charged a percentage plus a flat fee. Your exact rate depends on your Afterpay plan. Most of our users are charged between 4% and 6% plus a flat fee of 30 cents, and many are on the 6% plan. Enter your rate under Fee per order, with tax included.

Tax Rate on Fee Bills

If Afterpay charges tax on its fees, set Tax rate on fee bills to a rate that applies tax. In Australia, for example, this could be GST on Expenses (10%), as in the screenshot above. Most of our users choose a taxed rate for Afterpay, but check with your accountant that this is right for your setup.

When you are finished, click Done, then Save in the bar at the top of the page.
